NSG starts all-women commando course at Manesar training academy
The National Security Guard has started a 12-week Mahila Commando Conversion Course for women personnel from state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces at its Manesar training academy.
The programme trains selected personnel in physical conditioning, weapons proficiency, marksmanship, tactical intervention and hostage rescue. On completion, participants will return to their parent forces with specialised counter-terror training.
Women personnel from state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces have begun the National Security Guard’s first Mahila Commando Conversion Course at the NSG Training Academy in Manesar, the force said.
The 12-week programme covers physical conditioning, weapons proficiency, marksmanship, tactical intervention, hostage rescue and counter-terrorism skills. The NSG said it aims to build a wider pool of women personnel with specialised operational capabilities and common professional standards across forces.
After completing the course, participants are expected to return to their parent forces with the specialised training.
