Raksha Bandhan: Gurgaon commuters report higher cab and e-rickshaw fares

A cab from NSP in Delhi to Udyog Vihar-3, usually priced at about Rs 550-600, showed a fare of Rs 1,220 on Raksha Bandhan, a commuter said.

Workers travelling to Gurgaon offices said regular shuttles were unavailable for them that day, leading them to use app-based cabs and e-rickshaws despite relatively clear roads. Shivani Gupta said the absence of shuttle services meant paying more at each stage of her commute.

At Sikanderpur Metro station, passengers said e-rickshaw drivers charged Rs 50 for the trip to Ram Chowk in Udyog Vihar, compared with a usual fare of around Rs 30. Rohit Sharma, who works in DLF-2, said affordable last-mile options were especially limited on the holiday.

The reported fares affected workers travelling between Delhi, metro stations and Gurgaon workplaces after shuttle services were unavailable.
