Paharganj traffic diversions for Janmashtami Shobha Yatra on September 3

More than 2,000 devotees, along with raths and jhankis, are expected to move through Paharganj for the Shri Krishna Janmashtami Shobha Yatra on Thursday, September 3.

Delhi Traffic Police has warned of heavy, slow-moving traffic from 10am on Rani Jhansi Road, DBG Road, Chelmsford Road, Panchkuiya Road and nearby stretches. Commuters have been asked to plan ahead and avoid the affected roads where possible.

Motorists should particularly avoid DBG Road and Ajmal Khan Road between 1pm and 7pm. Police suggested Faiz Road and Minto Road as alternatives, depending on the destination and conditions on the road. Drivers have also been asked to follow directions from personnel deployed along the route.

At Laxmi Narain Mandir, or Birla Mandir, devotees attending Janmashtami on September 4 will enter through Mandir Marg, accessible via Kali Bari Marg or Peshwa Road. Footwear-deposit facilities will be available near Kali Bari Marg and beside the Hindu Maha Sabha office on Peshwa Road.
