Panvel approves LED streetlights in Taloja, Navade, Kharghar, Kalamboli

Panvel Municipal Corporation’s standing committee has cleared LED streetlight upgrades across Taloja, Navade, Kharghar and Kalamboli, replacing conventional fixtures in CIDCO-developed areas.

The approvals cover daily operation, repairs, improvements and maintenance of the streetlight systems for three years. The committee also approved additional expenditure for renovating streetlights and electrical infrastructure on the Sion-Panvel Highway between CBD Junction and Kalamboli Junction, with a three-year maintenance period.

At its September 1 meeting at the PMC headquarters, chaired by standing committee chairman Baban Mukadam, the body also approved additional spending for repairs and upkeep of gardens, playgrounds and other recreational facilities across the municipal area.

Two-year extensions were cleared for premises rented for Urban Health and Wellness Centres and homeless shelters. Electrical systems in PMC offices and buildings will receive maintenance and repair work under another three-year proposal.

The committee also selected the lowest tender for operating and maintaining the central air-conditioning system at the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natyagruha for three years.
