Delhi Cantonment parents’ group seeks safer routes near school excavations

The Delhi Parents Association has raised safety concerns about excavated road stretches near KV No. 2 and two nearby schools in Delhi Cantonment.

In a representation, the association said students walking to the schools encounter uneven road surfaces, loose stones and construction debris. It said it does not oppose the work but wants safe access for children while it continues.

The association has sought a site inspection within 48 hours, clearly marked pedestrian routes, barricades and warning signs. It has also asked agencies to regulate construction activity during school arrival and dispersal hours.

The group sought accountability for any safety-planning or coordination lapses, directions to agencies to implement child-safety measures, and an action-taken report within seven working days.
