Sohna police search Silani village after intelligence input

Police teams searched homes, streets and vacant plots in Silani village, Sohna, on Friday night after receiving an intelligence input, police said.

Crime branch and local police personnel set up checkpoints at the village’s entry and exit points, stopping vehicles and questioning drivers and occupants. Teams also checked nearby areas, schools and colleges as part of the security exercise.

An officer said the input concerned the locality rather than a particular house or building, so teams conducted a wider search of the village. Police said the operation did not identify any suspects and led to no arrests.

The checks were part of Independence Day security arrangements across the district. Police deployed about 4,500 personnel district-wide and placed checkpoints at multiple locations.
