Putin’s Delhi visit includes a separate food-security operation, reports say

Russian President Vladimir Putin is reported to be staying at ITC Maurya during his Delhi visit for the BRICS Summit, while his meals are expected to be handled through a tightly controlled security process.

Putin reportedly travels with specialised chefs and support staff, with ingredients checked before cooking and dishes inspected before they reach him. Mobile food-testing equipment has also been associated with his overseas travel arrangements. Hotel or host-country kitchens are generally not part of this routine, though exceptions have not been publicly confirmed.

The summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam on September 12 and 13, bringing together leaders from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran and the UAE, along with partner countries. New Delhi is hosting BRICS under India’s 2026 chairship.

Putin’s reported everyday preferences include fish, lamb, cottage cheese, fresh juices and simple vegetable salads, with rich dishes and desserts generally avoided.
