Delhi PWD to inspect waterlogging hotspots, submit report by August 31

Delhi PWD officers have until August 31 to inspect recurring waterlogging points and propose fixes before the next spell of heavy rain.

The direction follows waterlogging across the city on August 24 and 25. Delhi Traffic Police identified 113 waterlogging locations during rainfall up to August 20 and flagged another 26 during rain on August 24.

Teams are checking drainage arrangements, outfall conditions, siltation, blockages and pumping systems. Senior PWD officers are scheduled to inspect Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, while the special secretary will visit MG Road, Old Delhi-Gurugram Road and the Mahipalpur Bypass.

Chief engineers have been assigned recurrent trouble spots including New Rohtak Road, 100 Feet Road in Burari, Balbir Singh Sidhu Marg, Prembari Underpass, Palla and Dabri Nala Road, RTR Marg and Najafgarh-Kapashera Road.

PWD officers must submit their inspection report by August 31.
