Raga, Gaggan Anand’s first India restaurant, to open on Janpath Road

At 21A, Janpath Road, Gaggan Anand is preparing to open Raga, his first restaurant in India, on August 26.

The 42-seat Connaught Place restaurant will operate only at dinner, with its first service at 5:30pm and final seating at 9pm. Its signature tasting menu costs Rs 11,111 per person, excluding beverages and wine pairings. A second tasting menu is also planned, though its dishes have not been announced.

The name Raga refers to Anand, his chef and business partner Rydo Anton, and the Indian classical music form. The restaurant plans to serve progressive Indian food.

Anand previously held a Delhi residency in 2023, which he described as an effort to overcome a long-held fear of failing in the city.

Guests must be aged 13 or above for the tasting experience. The restaurant will restrict phone and camera use for most of the meal, and will not accommodate vegan or Jain diets, or coriander or chilli allergies. Anand’s presence at any particular service will depend on his schedule.
