Rain disrupts power supply for up to five hours in Gurugram

Power supply in parts of Sector 103 was restored after 6am following an outage that residents said began around 1am as rain swept through Gurugram.

Sushant Lok 1, 2 and 3; sectors 52, 57, 71, 99, 102 and 103; and DLF Phases 1, 2 and 3 were among the affected areas. Residents reported outages of up to five hours. Some said they were unable to get an estimated restoration time from the discom.

A DHBVN official said faults developed in underground feeders near Farrukhnagar and Sector 99, affecting societies along the Dwarka Expressway. The official said short-circuits, damaged poles and transformers, and branches falling on overhead lines caused local disruptions.

DHBVN said its ground teams began repairs after the rain stopped and restored supply by morning.
