Rekha Gupta honours 118 Delhi teachers at Thyagaraj Stadium

One hundred and eighteen teachers received State Teachers Awards from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at Shikshak Mahakumbh 2026 at Thyagaraj Stadium, held as part of Delhi’s Teachers’ Day celebrations.

Gupta said the awards recognised teachers’ professional achievement and their dedication, patience and faith in shaping children’s futures. She asked educators to help students develop habits of cleanliness, environmental protection, rule-following, discipline, sensitivity and helping people in need.

She also said teachers should build awareness of “good touch and bad touch” as part of their responsibility for children’s safety.

The Chief Minister said her government aimed to ensure every child in Delhi receives an education that builds knowledge, skills, values and confidence. She added that Delhi schools were being prepared for the future through technology and smart teaching resources.
