Rekha Gupta joins Tiranga Yatra from India Gate to Vijay Chowk

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined a Tiranga Yatra along Kartavya Path on Wednesday, walking with participants from India Gate towards Vijay Chowk ahead of Independence Day.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin was also part of the march. Addressing the gathering before it began, Gupta asked Delhi residents to hoist the Tricolour at their homes, take photographs and post them on social media. She said freedom fighters had secured Independence and that young people now held the nation’s power.

The BJP has been organising Tiranga Yatras across Delhi in the run-up to Independence Day, with events focused on the contribution of freedom fighters and nationalist leaders to the independence movement. A separate yatra was held in Mayur Vihar district under Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra.

The Kartavya Path march was one of the party’s public outreach events in the city before August 15.
