Rekha Gupta marks Raksha Bandhan with children at Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan

Children living on the streets tied rakhis to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan on Friday, as she met them for Raksha Bandhan.

Gupta spoke with the children about their education, interests and future goals, and listened to their aspirations. She said the Delhi government would support their education and overall well-being, stressing that every child should have the chance to dream and receive help to pursue those ambitions.

Officials said some children in the group had been admitted to schools on their instructions.

Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu marked the festival separately at Lok Niwas, where women members of his security team tied rakhis to him. Sandhu said the gesture reflected Raksha Bandhan’s themes of love, trust and togetherness, and extended festival greetings to Delhi residents.
