Residents protest waste dumping along Gurgaon’s Golf Course Extension Road

Hundreds of residents from more than 15 Gurgaon colonies gathered at IFC Chowk on Sunday to protest garbage and construction-waste dumping along Golf Course Extension Road.

Residents said mixed municipal and construction-and-demolition waste had accumulated around the corridor, affecting pedestrian and road movement, adding to dust pollution and blocking drains.

They submitted two petitions to the MCG, GMDA, district administration, Haryana State Pollution Control Board and the department of urban local bodies. Residents sought reliable door-to-door segregated collection, the removal of open-dumping points and a grievance system that shows complaint status and resolution timelines.

Their charter also calls for a construction-and-demolition waste processing plant, improved secondary transfer points, regular inspections of cleared sites, and monitoring of construction sites and vehicles carrying debris. Residents asked agencies to assign responsibility for each major dumping location, publish action-taken reports, clean and desilt drains, and address sewage overflow, streetlights and road markings.

The demonstration followed a similar protest on December 31, 2025, over dust and waste management on the same corridor.
