Rocket launchers and detonators from Manipur seizure destroyed in Narela

Rocket launchers and detonators brought from Manipur were destroyed in a controlled operation in Narela on Wednesday, with security tightened around the disposal site.

The Army, Delhi Police’s Special Cell and the Forensic Science Laboratory were involved in the exercise. The weapons had been transported to Delhi for examination and disposal after their recovery during a joint search operation in Manipur linked to the arrest of two people suspected of terrorism.

The cache included rifles, hundreds of live ammunition rounds, detonators and other explosive material. Specialised teams handled the disposal of the recovered weapons and explosives.

The operation was under way in Narela, though the precise disposal location was not identified.
