ROST opens French toast café in Khar West

ROST, a 22-seat café at the corner of 3rd and 5th Road in Khar West, serves sweet and savoury French toast from 11am to 11pm daily.

The café’s in-house brioche is eggless and vegan, and is coated in tofu batter, operations head Rahul Valmiki said. Savoury dishes include Prawn Star, with butter-poached prawns, yuzu aioli and confit garlic; Makhani Main Character, with pulled chicken, makhani espuma, pickled onions and coriander oil; and Tokyo Drift, a teriyaki chicken brioche sandwich with kewpie mayo, cucumber ribbons and crispy shallots.

For dessert, Bombay Cutting Chai combines brioche with masala chai diplomat, cream, saffron and rusk crumbs. The drinks menu includes a Brown Butter Flat White, Toasted Brioche Latte, matcha drinks and cold brews. Co-founder Param Arora said the café uses rum- and whiskey-barrel-aged coffee beans for its bottled cold brew.

ROST is open daily from 11am to 11pm. The approximate cost for two is ₹1,600.
