Saurav Das seeks ₹2 crore in Delhi High Court privacy suit

Saurav Das, a spokesperson for the Cockroach Janta Party, has moved the Delhi High Court seeking ₹2 crore in damages over the alleged public disclosure of his residential details.

Das has named political commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra, a legal news portal, a media platform and social-media accounts associated with other outlets as defendants. The suit seeks an injunction against any further publication or sharing of the material, along with directions to remove videos and posts already online.

Das says he has lived in a rented Greater Kailash property since early 2025. He alleges representatives of a media platform entered the premises, filmed its interiors and posted the footage on X on August 5; the video was republished on August 10. He also alleges that Mitra discussed details that could identify his home during a programme and later made multiple posts containing personal information.

The suit says the disclosures could expose Das and his family to harassment, intimidation or violence, citing prior threats. The filing follows a complaint over alleged trespass at Das’s Delhi home.
