SBKK’s Krishna dance drama returns to Kamani Auditorium for its 50th edition

At 6:30 pm each day until September 4, Kamani Auditorium in Mandi House is hosting Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra’s *Krishna* dance drama for its 50th edition.

The production, conceived by SBKK founder Sumitra Charat Ram in 1976, follows Krishna from his childhood in Gokul and Vrindavan and his relationship with Radha to his role in the Mahabharata. It runs for two hours and 20 minutes.

This year’s staging uses handcrafted sets and live stage design rather than LED screens or digital backdrops. Most characters have also been given new costumes. SBKK chairperson Shobha Deepak Singh said grandparents are bringing grandchildren, while parents are returning to a programme they watched as children.

A 3 pm matinee is scheduled for September 4. SBKK is also approaching schools to bring students for morning performances. Tickets are available online.
