Sector 51 residents seek repairs to broken gym, swings and walking tracks

Broken floor tiles and equipment at an open gym in a Sector 51 park have prompted residents to seek repairs from Noida’s horticulture department.

Anita Joshi, RWA president for blocks A and B, said the complaints include damaged swings, a broken main gate and the Block B fountain, which she said is covered in muck. Horticulture director Anand Mohan Sing said the department had received the requests and would address the listed issues soon.

In parks serving blocks C to F, RWA general secretary Sanjeev Kumar said soil and algae on walking tracks were creating a slipping risk, particularly for older residents. He also cited low-hanging branches and unclean toilets.

Residents said a helicopter play structure in the Sector 51 Children’s Park has been broken for nearly two years. They said a boat-shaped structure has been neglected for more than six years and is covered in algae. Two rainwater-harvesting pits built around three years ago have also not been maintained, they added.

The horticulture department said it would take up the listed repairs soon.
