Gurugram Sector 67 schools seek action on Ramgarh dumping

A green belt in Ramgarh near Gurugram’s Sector 67 has become a dumping spot for plastic and food waste, with two private schools, a market and a corporate office nearby.

School staff say waste is left outside one school entrance, raising hygiene concerns among parents. The schools have hired cleaners, posted security guards and planted trees around the spot, but dumping has continued.

Local street vendor Saurabh Tewari said a garbage truck has visited twice a day for the past month and vendors have been asked to hand waste directly to it. He said dumping still takes place, especially at night.

MCG joint commissioner Naresh Kumar said the civic body cleared the site 15 days ago and continues to collect garbage there, but people resume dumping despite warnings. Earlier this year, MCG announced fines of up to ₹10,000 for disposing of waste at unauthorised locations, including near schools and hospitals.
