Six ways to spend September 3 in Delhi: art, classical music, theatre and comedy
From a Tokyo photography exhibition at NGMA to a free Hindustani classical concert at India Habitat Centre, Delhi’s calendar has a compact line-up for Thursday.
NGMA’s Tokyo Before / After opens from 10am, while Shruti Samvaad brings vocalist Dr Shruti Jauhari, tabla player Ajay Kulkarni and harmonium player Kshitij Singh to India Habitat Centre at 7pm. Also on the list are Krishna Dance Drama at Kamani Auditorium, a poetry discussion at IIC, a drawing workshop in Connaught Place and Inder Sahani’s comedy set in Saket.
Tokyo Before / After, a photography exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Jaipur House, is open from 10am to 6pm on Thursday. Entry is ₹20, and the exhibition runs until September 19; Central Secretariat is the closest Metro station.
For an evening of Hindustani classical music, vocalist Dr Shruti Jauhari performs with tabla player Ajay Kulkarni and harmonium player Kshitij Singh at The Theatre, Amaltas, India Habitat Centre, at 7pm. Entry is free. JLN Stadium on the Violet Line is the nearest Metro station.
Kamani Auditorium continues its run of Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra’s Krishna Dance Drama at 6.30pm, with tickets available through BookMyShow. The production runs until September 4.
Elsewhere, poet Seema Jain discusses her book *Your Silent Love: Poems* at India International Centre at 6pm, alongside Malashri Lal, Dr Lakshmi Kannan, Satbir Chadha and Swati Pal. A Bad Drawing Party workshop begins at Chaayos in Connaught Place at 4pm, while comedian Inder Sahani takes the stage at Hideout Comedy Club, Saket, at 8pm.
