Gurgaon TCS engineer dies after reversing JCB hits bike near Moulsari

Tushar Kumar, a 27-year-old systems engineer with Tata Consultancy Services, died late Thursday after a reversing earthmover hit his motorcycle near Moulsari Avenue Rapid Metro station in Gurgaon.

Kumar was riding home from work at about 11.30pm when the rear bucket of the JCB struck his Royal Enfield, throwing him and the bike onto the road. He was wearing a helmet. A passerby alerted police around 11.45pm, and Kumar was taken to Narayana Hospital in DLF Phase 3, where doctors declared him dead.

The earthmover driver left the spot. Police found the machine, registered HR-36-AN-7050, abandoned and seized it. The machine was being used for GMDA roadwork at the site.

Kumar had worked in Gurgaon for four years and lived with his uncle in Ramprastha City, Sector 37D. His parents live in Mathura. In his complaint, his father, Harish Kumar, alleged that workers were carrying out roadwork at night in the middle of the road without proper directions or indicators. Police are examining the allegation.
