Gurugram proposes last-mile hubs at three Metro stations

Sector 45, Cyber Park in Sector 39 and Sector 33 near the Metro depot have been identified for multi-modal transport hubs on the upcoming Gurugram Metro corridor.

The proposed facilities would include bus bays, auto stands and footpaths to help passengers enter and leave stations and complete last-mile trips. Plans also provide for city buses, autos, e-rickshaws and private vehicles in station approach areas.

Metro authorities presented the Sector 45 design at a meeting chaired by additional GMDA chief executive Vishwajeet Chaudhary. GMDA, Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran, Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram will submit objections and suggestions before the proposal is finalised.

The agencies also discussed removing utilities around Cyber Park and Sector 33 to create space for the facilities. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited will handle station design and construction. State government consent is required before a decision on the cost and funding of work outside the Metro project’s scope.

The hubs are part of the Gurugram Metro project, where construction has begun near Cyber Park.
