Bengaluru development minister Krishna Byre Gowda has asked agencies to prepare a master plan for KR Pura Tin Factory Junction, covering traffic, public transport and pedestrian access.
A proposed master plan for KR Pura Tin Factory Junction will examine road geometry, footpaths, free-left turns and widening where feasible.
KR Pura Tin Factory Junction, where routes to Whitefield, ITPL and Marathahalli meet, may get a master plan for traffic and pedestrian movement.
During an inspection under the second phase of the Ward One campaign, Bengaluru development minister Krishna Byre Gowda asked officials to prepare a proposal covering traffic flow, public transport integration, footpaths and commuter access. The junction also carries vehicles entering Bengaluru from the outskirts and is affected by Metro construction.
Byre Gowda asked agencies to improve pedestrian links for people changing between transport modes and to redesign traffic movements. The proposal should examine road widening and free-left turns where feasible, he said.
GBA, BMRCL and other stakeholders have been asked to prepare the proposal jointly. Urban planning groups Janaagraha and Agra Indians have also been invited to contribute.
The minister also directed officials to restore roads around the junction that were damaged by Metro and K-Ride works after civil construction is completed.
