Traffic police propose cameras, crossings and road repairs for west Delhi bottlenecks

Delhi Traffic Police has proposed speed cameras near Metro Quarters and Deenpur-Goyla, alongside new signs, rumble strips and bollards on the Urban Extension Road-II.

The proposals were discussed with the PWD, NHAI, DDA, DMRC, DTC and BSES, and cover congestion and safety concerns on routes linking Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Najafgarh, Nangloi, Peeragarhi and Rohtak Road. Cameras have also been sought at Dwarka Expressway entry and exit points, while a loop is proposed at the junction opposite Yashobhoomi to manage traffic arriving from UER-II and Dwarka.

For pedestrians, the traffic police has suggested a foot overbridge or skywalk at Peeragarhi Chowk, and either a foot overbridge or underpass near Dipali Chowk Metro station. Other proposed works include redeveloping Dabri Mor roundabout, repairing the Nangloi-Najafgarh Road towards Bani Camp, and fixing the damaged Outer Ring Road stretch between Vikaspuri and Peeragarhi flyovers, where central verges are missing.

A senior traffic police officer said the issues had been discussed verbally and a formal proposal would follow.
