Two die in separate road crashes in Gurgaon district

Rajesh and his friend Vedaram were walking home near Sultanpur village in Farrukhnagar at about 8.20pm on Friday when a truck allegedly hit them from behind, police said. The two had got off near the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and were taking a dirt track beyond Suraj Hotel.

Vedaram, a resident of Maruti Colony in Sultanpur, fell by the roadside. Rajesh was taken to SGT Hospital in Budhera and later referred to PGIMS Rohtak, where he died, police said. Passersby stopped the truck driver after he allegedly left the vehicle and tried to flee, police said. Police seized the truck and registered a case at Farrukhnagar police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions related to rash driving and causing death by negligence.

In a separate crash near Sirmathla Road in Sohna on Saturday, Nitin was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by his uncle, Naresh, when a bus allegedly struck it from the side at about 6pm. Nitin was taken first to Al Falah Hospital in Dhauj and then to an ESI hospital in Faridabad, where he was declared dead. Police registered a case at City Sohna police station after Naresh told them that the bus driver fled after the collision.
