Two evening Churchgate–Virar locals to skip Borivali on trial basis

The 6.22pm Churchgate–Virar AC local and the 7.05pm Churchgate–Virar local will no longer stop at Borivali on a trial basis under Western Railway’s revised timetable. Both trains will halt at Dahisar.

Western Railway said the change is intended to move some evening-peak passenger traffic away from Borivali, where heavy boarding and alighting can lengthen station halts and delay following services. Commuters heading to Borivali by AC local can use a 6.28pm service from Churchgate, which will stop there.

The revised timetable retains Western Railway’s total of 1,414 services. Six low-demand off-peak services have been withdrawn and six new services introduced. Weekday AC services rise from 145 to 147 after the 5.28pm Churchgate–Borivali and 6.24pm Borivali–Churchgate non-AC locals were converted to AC services.

For the morning rush, the 8.23am Virar–Dadar service will be extended to Churchgate, arriving at 9.48am. Additional non-peak services have also been scheduled on the Borivali–Bhayandar–Virar section, including late-night trains from Borivali to Bhayandar and Virar.
