Gurugram Metro: two foot overbridges in Sectors 9, 10 to be removed

Two foot overbridges near Alpine Public School in Sector 9 and Greenwood Public School in Sector 10 will be dismantled for the Gurugram Metro corridor.

The bridges are on the stretch between Umang Bhardwaj Chowk and Basai Flyover. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority has allowed Gurugram Metro Rail Limited to remove them because they fall within the planned metro alignment.

GMRL will bear the full cost of dismantling the bridges and building two replacements along the same corridor. GMDA will approve the locations of the replacement bridges. GMRL will also take over and transport the dismantled material.

The two bridges were built in 2023 under a ₹114-crore road-widening, flyover and railway-bridge project. They serve people travelling through Sectors 37C, 37D, 9, 9A and 10.

The work is part of the 30km metro project linking Millennium City Centre and Cyber Hub. Its first phase runs to Sector 9, with a spur towards Dwarka Expressway.
