Two men sent to two-day police remand in Gurugram Golf Course Road collision case

A Gurugram court on Wednesday sent Kalyan Bainsla and Lovneesh to two days of police remand in the case of an alleged car collision with a woman biker on Golf Course Road.

The case was registered after the biker posted a video alleging that a car hit her motorcycle on September 13 and left the spot. Gurugram Police arrested 33-year-old Bainsla on September 15 from between Dausa and Rajgarh in Rajasthan. Police said he had switched off his phone after the incident. Lovneesh, 34, was arrested the same day; police allege he was in the car at the time.

Police said CCTV footage from the area resulted in an attempt-to-murder provision being added to the FIR. The vehicle allegedly used in the collision has been recovered and is registered in the name of Bainsla’s friend.

Before the court order, defence lawyer Lalit Bindal said police sought custody to identify possible co-accused and recreate the scene. He said the defence opposed the request and objected to the addition of Sections 307 and 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
