Bengaluru bars two-wheelers on Hebbal–Yelahanka elevated stretch

Two-wheelers will not be allowed on Ballari Road’s elevated stretch from Sanjeevini Cross near Hebbal to Vidyashilpa Junction near Yelahanka from Friday, September 4.

Bengaluru Traffic Police said the Airport flyover will remain open to two-wheelers, clarifying that the restriction applies only to this corridor. Police will monitor compliance through CCTV cameras.

Police said they introduced the restriction to reduce fatal crashes on the elevated stretch. The corridor recorded 15 accidents in the past 19 months, and police data showed fatal crashes there have been rising since 2015.

Police also said vehicle-category restrictions will apply on the B.G.S. Flyover on Mysore Road, the Peenya Elevated Corridor and the Double Decker Flyover between Silk Board and Ragigudda.
