Greater Noida trade show to host UP sports pavilion

A nearly 200-square-metre sports pavilion at India Expo Mart will bring together Uttar Pradesh athletes, proposed facilities and interactive games during the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida from September 25 to 29.

The state Sports Department said the five-day event will include the Directorate of Sports, Prantiya Rakshak Dal, Youth Welfare Department, Sports Colleges and the Sports University being developed in Meerut. Digital screens, video clips and photographs will present the achievements of athletes from the state.

Three-dimensional models will show sports projects in Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Kanpur, along with the Meerut sports university. A documentary on sports infrastructure is also planned.

The pavilion will include a gaming zone with short activities linked to four sports, including football, hockey and table tennis. It will also present potential uses of artificial intelligence for athlete support and digital databases of sporting talent. Special Secretary Kumar Vineet is the government’s nodal officer for the event.
