US Ambassador Sergio Gor meets Shubhanshu Shukla in Bengaluru

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who piloted Axiom Space’s Ax-4 mission, met US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Gor described Shukla as the first Indian astronaut to travel to the International Space Station. He said Shukla’s path from NASA training to the Ax-4 mission reflected India-US cooperation in space. Ax-4 launched on June 25, 2025, and returned to Earth on July 15, 2025.

Gor also met Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru. He said India-US engagement in Karnataka was growing across space technology, artificial intelligence and trade.

The ambassador cited initiatives he called Pax Silica and TRUST as avenues for American and Indian industry.
