Videos show helicopter movements at Goregaon East’s Westin rooftop helipad

A toddler watches a helicopter approach The Westin Mumbai Garden City’s rooftop in Goregaon East, then follows it again as it takes off minutes later. The clip is among several videos circulating from around the hotel, bringing fresh attention to its rooftop helipad.

The helipad sits atop Commerce Tower-1 at the International Business Park within Oberoi Garden City. It is used for private helicopter movements, including corporate, VIP and charter travel, rather than regular tourist joyrides.

One video, filmed from the nearby Morgan Stanley building, shows a woman saying she counted seven helicopter landings and departures. Another captures a helicopter idling on the rooftop before lifting above the surrounding towers; traffic on the Western Express Highway is visible below.

Private point-to-point helicopter charters can operate from the facility after operators obtain required Air Traffic Control clearances. Sightseeing helicopter flights in Mumbai generally operate from Juhu Aerodrome.
