WagonR CNG cab catches fire in Noida’s Sector 99; driver escapes unhurt

A WagonR CNG cab caught fire while moving through Noida’s Sector 99 area at around 10.30pm on Monday night, leaving the vehicle badly damaged.

The driver escaped from the taxi in time and no injuries or deaths were reported. Visuals from the spot showed flames engulfing the car, while its number plate was damaged in the fire.

Fire brigade personnel reached the location after being alerted and put out the blaze. The cab was passing near the Sector 100 villas when it caught fire.

Officials have not established what triggered the fire. The incident is a reminder for motorists to move away from a vehicle immediately if they notice smoke, an unusual smell or signs of overheating, and to alert emergency services rather than attempting to tackle a spreading fire themselves.
