Waterlogging persists near Dwarka Expressway underpass in Gurugram after heavy rain

Heavy rain is continuing to test Gurugram’s roads and drainage network, with waterlogging and traffic disruption reported across the city during disruptive spells.

One recurring trouble spot is the Sector 102-102A road near the Dwarka Expressway underpass. The stretch has faced flooding after rainfall despite redevelopment and drainage work estimated at Rs 11.8 crore. Residents have said water accumulates there after almost every substantial shower, raising concerns about whether the drainage system can cope with the area’s expanding construction and runoff.

The impact goes beyond a single road. Waterlogged streets and underpasses can turn regular commutes into long delays, particularly for people travelling through low-lying routes during or immediately after heavy rain. During especially disruptive weather, offices and private institutions have been advised to allow employees to work from home.

For residents in and around Sectors 102 and 102A, checking weather conditions and allowing additional travel time may be necessary when rain is forecast. The recurring flooding also puts renewed attention on whether completed drainage and road works are delivering the intended relief during the monsoon.
