Woman dies after fall from 16th floor at Noida’s Divine Meadows society

A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the 16th floor of a residential tower at Divine Meadows society in Noida’s Sector 108 on Sunday evening.

Police said the incident occurred around 5.30pm at a rented flat in Lily Tower, where she had been living with her husband after their July 11 marriage. Residents were alerted by a loud sound, and police reached the society after receiving information. She was taken to hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police said no note was found at the scene. The body has been sent for postmortem examination and a forensic team has been asked to inspect the flat and surrounding scene.

During preliminary questioning, the husband told police that she had been receiving treatment for depression, though officers said he did not immediately provide treatment records. Investigators are verifying that claim, reviewing her medical history and examining whether the couple had argued before the fall.

Her family has accused the husband of dowry harassment. Police said those allegations will be examined alongside statements from family members, forensic findings and the postmortem report before further action is taken.
