An AI-camera survey has flagged about 1,000 garbage-related issues on Bengaluru South roads. Field staff have 10 days to inspect sites and upload geo-tagged photographs.

An AI-camera survey of 150 km of Bengaluru South roads found about 2,000 civic issues, including 1,000 garbage-related tickets.

Around 1,000 garbage-related issues have been flagged on Bengaluru South roads by an AI-camera survey, and marshals and junior health inspectors have been given 10 days to act.

The pilot survey covered 150 km of arterial and sub-arterial roads last month, using a vehicle fitted with an AI camera. Bengaluru South City Corporation said its road network spans 311 km.

The survey generated 2,000 tickets, covering garbage blackspots, potholes, footpath encroachments, construction waste and unauthorised optical-fibre cables. The corporation assigned the garbage-related tickets through the Anveshak mobile application.

Staff must visit each location and upload geo-tagged photographs taken within 50 metres of the site before they can close a ticket. Commissioner K.N. Ramesh said the system could help document civic work and identify problems before residents file complaints.

The corporation plans to repeat the AI survey every 30 days to check whether it has resolved existing issues and to identify new ones.
