Pero opened Lakme Fashion Week at Delhi’s Taj Palace with “Dream Dress-Up”, a Spring/Summer 2027 collection created with Barbie.
A life-sized pink Barbie dreamhouse set the scene as Aneeth Arora’s label Pero opened Lakme Fashion Week at Taj Palace in New Delhi.
The Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Dream Dress-Up”, is Pero’s global collaboration with Barbie. Lace, gingham checks, block prints and stripes drew on 1980s fashion, the original Barbie doll and Malibu Barbie silhouettes. Relaxed shapes, crochet and bows featured across the collection as models walked between audience members.
Pink featured prominently alongside fluid silhouettes. The styling included graphic winged eyeliner, vintage hairstyles and neon footwear inspired by the original doll.
First-time runway model Nishant called the experience exhausting but enjoyable. Vanessa said the show recalled childhood memories of playing with dolls; her mother was a collector.
Lakme Fashion Week, presented by Lakme and Tira in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India, is scheduled to conclude on October 18.
