Thursday evening rain slowed traffic on Hosur Road, MG Road and central Bengaluru. Power cuts were reported in some areas, with more rain forecast.

Heavy rain brought Hosur Road to a crawl on Thursday evening, with waterlogging reported at several points near Electronics City.

Traffic also moved slowly on MG Road, Commissionerate Road, Acharya Layout Road, Anand Rao Circle, RP Road towards PG Halli, Mehkri Circle and Jayamahal. Congestion in the central business district delayed commuters during the evening rush.

Several officegoers shared screenshots showing surge fares on ride-hailing apps, with trips of about 5 km costing more than ₹300. Commuters also reported power cuts in southern and northeastern parts of the city.

Greater Bengaluru Authority sources said no trees had fallen, though more than 10 snapped-branch incidents were reported across the five city corporations. The IMD’s Bengaluru office forecast generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers over the next three days.
