BRICS delegates may take one bus from Parliament to Bharat Mandapam

Union ministers and chief ministers attending the BRICS Summit are expected to board a single bus at Parliament for the trip to Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The proposed arrangement would replace multiple individual convoys on the route, with the aim of keeping traffic moving more smoothly and limiting road restrictions for commuters. Leaders are expected to assemble at Parliament before travelling together to the summit venue.

The exact time of departure has not been finalised. Security and traffic agencies are also expected to use the coordinated movement to manage the route more efficiently.

India is hosting the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13. Delhi has already prepared traffic diversions for the summit, including curbs planned from September 10. For commuters, the common-bus plan could mean fewer rolling road closures than several separate VIP movements, though restrictions around the Parliament-to-Pragati Maidan corridor may still be required.
