Cloudy Sunday ahead for Delhi-NCR, with light rain in pockets

Cloud cover is expected to hold over Delhi-NCR on Sunday, with very light to light rain forecast at a few places.

The India Meteorological Department’s outlook points to a relatively mild day for the region, even as isolated heavy rain is forecast across parts of Uttarakhand, central India, the Northeast, east India and the south. Delhi-NCR is not included in the heavy-rain forecast.

For residents, that means a chance of short showers rather than an all-day downpour, though conditions can differ between neighbourhoods across the NCR. The forecast follows light showers and evening thunderstorms forecast for Delhi earlier this week.

The IMD expects rainfall activity to remain widespread in several parts of the country through Thursday.
