Cockroach seen in Khan Market Big Chill display refrigerator video

A cockroach is seen moving inside a display refrigerator near brownies at The Big Chill Cakery in Khan Market in a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

Food vlogger Kenny, who posts as @giantgrubs, said he had tried to contact the bakery privately about the hygiene concern before sharing the clip. The video had crossed 177,000 views at the time of reporting.

The bakery did not respond before the video was posted. The clip does not establish how long the insect had been in the display area or whether any food was affected.

The Khan Market sighting follows FSSAI notices to JW Marriott and Andaz Delhi over food-safety and hygiene lapses found during inspections of their Aerocity premises. At Andaz, inspectors disposed of about 87 kg of expired sweets, along with outdated cake bases and bread items.

For customers, the immediate concern is simple: check visible display conditions before buying ready-to-eat food, and flag hygiene complaints directly with the outlet or food-safety authorities.
