Delhi launches pollution-awareness campaign through March 2027

Delhi has launched its pollution-awareness campaign, “Saath Nibhayein, Pradushan Ghataayein”, which will run through March 2027.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the campaign aims to involve government departments, industries, schools and colleges, resident welfare associations, markets, construction stakeholders, bulk waste generators, farmers, vehicle owners and other residents.

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has started district-level workshops in industrial areas for industrial associations and individual units. The sessions cover Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, air-pollution-control devices, diesel-generator rules and other compliance requirements.

The Transport Department will conduct awareness activities on pollution-under-control compliance, vehicle servicing, end-of-life vehicle disposal, cleaner fuels and electric vehicles.

The campaign follows Delhi’s seven-month pollution awareness plan, announced in August. Sirsa said enforcement alone would not be enough and that citizens and institutions have a role in improving Delhi’s air.

Further workshops, community programmes, field activities and sensitisation drives are planned over the coming months.
