Delhi drivers face BRICS traffic curbs on 35 roads from September 11

Janpath, Kartavya Path and Mathura Road are among 35 roads where commuters may face restrictions or diversions from September 11 to 13 during the BRICS Summit.

Delhi Traffic Police said it has planned 72 diversions, with short-notice controls possible on central Delhi stretches including Ashoka Road, Shanti Path, C-Hexagon, Teen Murti Marg, Sardar Patel Marg, Safdarjung Road and Vijay Chowk. Schools and government offices will remain closed during the period.

Motorists travelling towards Connaught Place, the airport or railway stations should check their route before leaving. For airport journeys, police have advised using the Metro where possible. Drivers should leave early and consider routes through Ring Road, NH-48, UER-II and Dwarka Road, depending on their starting point.

Roadside parking will not be allowed within 200 metres of controlled roads. Buses will run, though routes may be diverted during official movements. Autos and taxis will remain available. Commuters can also check the earlier diversion plan for Bharat Mandapam before travelling.
