Delhi Metro: DMRC warns against disruptive filming and phone stunts

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has warned against attaching phones to moving trains and other filming activity that can inconvenience or injure passengers, damage devices or lead to action.

DMRC said personal, non-commercial photography or videography on a mobile phone may be permitted in designated areas. It said filming is not permitted when it obstructs passengers, compromises safety, creates a nuisance, or is used for commercial or promotional purposes without prior approval.

For commuter Shivani Jhawar, the concern is the shared space of a crowded train. She said filming can block passengers and intrude on their privacy. Gurgaon creator Shraddha Gurung said appearing in the background of someone else’s video can feel uncomfortable.

Creator Kanishka Mukhija said filming itself need not be a problem when it does not inconvenience others. “If your content requires everyone around you to adjust, you’re probably doing it wrong,” she said.
