Delhi motorcade rehearsal to disrupt central and south Delhi traffic from 10am to 3pm
Delhi Police will regulate traffic at 22 diversion points and more than 35 roads on Wednesday for a BRICS Summit motorcade rehearsal.
Commuters using central and south Delhi corridors, including routes towards Pragati Maidan, IGI Airport and major railway stations, should allow extra time between 10am and 3pm. Metro services will run, while bus routes may be diverted during VIP movements.
Traffic will be regulated across more than 35 roads in central and south Delhi from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday as Delhi Police conducts a motorcade rehearsal for the upcoming BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam.
Sardar Patel Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Mathura Road, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Panchsheel Marg and Africa Avenue Road are among the stretches expected to be affected. Diversions are planned at 22 points, including Patel Chowk, the RML Hospital roundabout, Dhaula Kuan flyover, Moti Bagh flyover, Mandi House and intersections along Lodhi Road.
People travelling to New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations should check the prescribed alternate routes. Airport passengers, particularly those approaching IGI from Gurugram, Dwarka and different parts of Delhi, have been advised to use the Metro where possible.
Emergency and essential services will receive priority passage. This follows traffic diversions already announced for the summit.
