Delhi-NCR set for another heavy rain spell from August 14

Delhi-NCR is likely to see continuing rain on Thursday, August 13, before a heavier and more widespread spell returns from August 14.

The India Meteorological Department expects rain activity around the region on Thursday, though widespread rainfall is not forecast that day. From August 14 to 15, however, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to receive fairly widespread rain, with heavy falls possible over Delhi and adjoining areas.

For residents, that could mean slower road travel, waterlogging in low-lying stretches and disruption during periods of intense rain. The forecast follows a wet start to the month, when heavy rain slowed traffic across Delhi-NCR and rain-triggered waterlogging caused power outages in parts of Gurugram.

Heavy rainfall is also forecast across Haryana and Chandigarh from August 14 to 17. Residents planning intercity travel or outdoor work should keep track of local weather warnings through the coming days.
