Delhi tenders lighting upgrades for 969 bus shelters

DTIDC has floated tenders worth more than ₹5.04 crore for lighting and electrical connections at 969 bus queue shelters across Delhi.

DTIDC plans lighting and electrical work at 969 Delhi bus shelters in three tender clusters. Contractors will have 45 days to complete the work and maintain it for a year.

Waiting for a bus before sunrise or after dark may become easier at 969 Delhi bus shelters, where the Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (DTIDC) plans to install lighting and electrical connections.

The project is estimated to cost more than ₹5.04 crore. It includes LED batten lights, wiring, distribution boards, circuit breakers, electricity meters and related safety equipment.

DTIDC has floated three tenders covering 320 shelters in East, North East, North and North Delhi; 326 in New Delhi, Old Delhi, Central Delhi, Outer Delhi and Central North Delhi; and 323 in South, West, South West and South East Delhi.

DTIDC said the lighting is intended to improve visibility for passengers waiting in the early morning and after sunset, including when identifying buses and access points.

The selected contractor must arrange single-phase electricity connections of up to 1 kW, coordinate with electricity distribution companies, and complete installation, testing and commissioning within 45 days. The contract includes one year of maintenance, and the LED lights must carry a minimum five-year manufacturer warranty.
