Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has asked agencies to finish basic ghat preparations by November 6 for Chhath Puja from November 13 to 16.

Delhi plans over 1,400 Chhath ghats for November 13-16, with a public holiday on November 16 and site work due by November 6.

Delhi plans to set up more than 1,400 Chhath ghats this year, and November 16 will be a public holiday for the festival.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed departments and district administrations to complete basic work at the ghats by November 6. Chhath Puja is scheduled from November 13 to 16; water-filling, tent installation and final cleaning can take place closer to the observance.

The directions include toilets and changing rooms for women, round-the-clock sanitation teams on November 15 and 16, large dustbins and continuous waste removal. Gupta also asked agencies to repair approach roads and clear potholes, debris and loose stones.

Large and medium ghats may receive covered tents around worship areas and stages in view of colder November weather. Officials must inspect each site in person rather than rely only on progress reports.
