Delhi NIPUN baseline tests: absentees can appear until September 5

Delhi’s NIPUN Sankalp baseline assessments for Classes II to VIII have moved into their final phase, with students who were absent given until September 5 to take the tests.

The three-subject exercise was held in Hindi on August 27, English on August 29 and mathematics on August 31, following the schedule set last month. It covers schools run by the Directorate of Education, MCD, NDMC and Delhi Cantonment Board.

The Delhi SCERT has directed schools to ensure maximum participation during the extension. Tests use OMR sheets: teachers fill in all details and responses for Classes II and III, while for Classes IV to VIII they fill student details and Part B, with students completing Part A.

Schools must maintain a one-desk-one-student arrangement, verify records on the NIPUN Sankalp portal and have trained teachers check OMR sheets before packing and submission. School heads are responsible for the process, with zonal officers assigned to monitor it.

The assessment is intended to map foundational literacy and numeracy levels, helping schools identify students who may need academic support.
